Student Medical Elective
“Kans and Kandy provided me with a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to Belize for my medical elective, by funding my entire trip. As a Lancaster Medical student that had just finished their medical finals I was able to use my knowledge to provide the most up to date medical care in such a resource poor country. I began my placement on the island of San Pedro, in a government polyclinic. This provided free but limited healthcare to the local population. I then spent a few weeks in the San Ignacio community hospital, which dealt with a much larger local population.
This opportunity has not only meant I can make a meaningful difference to the local community of Belize, it has also allowed me to enrich my knowledge and develop and adapt my patient care skills. I am very grateful to Peter Razaq and Kans and Kandy for this unforgettable opportunity.
Finally I am happy to inform you I have passed my Final Medical exams.”
